APRIL GATHERINGPlease join us at Mack Jackson's studio on Chrisman Lane. Bring a piece or two of your work to share, if you would like. Refreshments provided by Dave Cornwell.



APRIL EXHIBITSGaynella McGuire at the Boyle County Public Library. Several Gathering Artists are the featured artists at Dr. Baeker's from April through December. (Commonwealth Hematology and Oncology, on 150 Bypass next to Shoney's).McDowell Wellness Center, will show the work of Burgin Schools.



We had a very good meeting in March with many upcoming events announced and discussed. For May, Delores Taylor will be at the Library, Diane Reed at the Wellness Center. Our May meeting will be at Dr. Baeker's at the usual time and will be catered with the reception for the exhibit to follow a short business meeting. The reception will last until noon. There are 3 spots still available at Dr Baeker's office. Take your work during week and tell the receptionist you are hanging with Gathering Artists.



We still have openings at the Wellness Center for November and December.



We voted to have an exhibit at the Old Crow Winery for June and July. The following people have signed up to participate. Diane Carey, Delores Taylor, Wayne Daugherty, John Robinson, Ginny Birney, Geri Trinler, Nancy Beresford, Gay McGuire, Diane Reed, Mary Ruth Maggard, Virginia Robertson, Jackie Zimmerman, David Cornwell, Shirley Cochran-Walls, Fox Hutt, Kathleen O'Brien, Mary Alexander, John Dixon.



Wilderness Trace Art League will reopen their gallery on April 16th with a new exhibit "Fresh Paint". They will have an Open House on the 17th from 10am-4pm and on the 18th from noon ­4pm. This is an Art Passport Event.



Again the West Kentucky Corporation in Bowling Green is planning the "Antiques, Collectibles and Stuff" four-day sale across Kentucky that will go east to west along Highway 68/80 from Paducah to Maysville. The dates are June 3 through 6. There is a possibility for us to have a space in Perryville. More info at April meeting.



Marlene Hanna asked to announce:Eastern Kentucky's Danville campus is sponsoring an Arts and Crafts Fair, Thursday, June 10, 2004. (Brass Band Weekend) We would like to invite the members of the Gathering Artists group to participate. The purpose of this program is to highlight the artistic potential in our community. All areas and levels of arts and crafts (two and three dimensional) are invited to participate in a highly visible event within our community.The cost to participate is free. You may sell your items or exhibit only. We will provide advertising, chairs and a table to be set up inside or outside on the sidewalk at EKU in the Danville Manor Shopping Center. Set up is 8:30 am-9:30 am. The fair will be open from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. Each participant is responsible for staffing their table.To reserve a space, please call (859) 236-6866 between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm Monday-Friday.Light refreshments will served!



April 10th -Central Kentucky Wildlife Refuge - ( Forkland ) will have a wild flower tour day and hike with a Botanist leading the tour.

The Georgetown International Kite and Culture Festival, will take place in Georgetown, Kentucky, on April 17th and 18th. For more information call (502) 863-1575 ext. 104 or visit www.kitefest.com. David Cornwell told us about it at the meeting and said there will be beautiful, amazing kites that are flown in choreographed dances. It sounded wonderful.
