Please join us at Mack Jackson's studio. Please bring a piece or two of your work to share, if you would like. Come enjoy Mack's studio in the country. Refreshments will be provided by Virginia Robertson.

Donna Clore has announced that arts and craft entries for the Boyle County Fair can be brought in on July 18th from 2 to 4 pm. They have changed the rules this year and you can not submit a type of artwork that you are selling. For more information call Donna at 236-4484.



They have extended the date to sign up for the Gallery Hop. See the attached form to mail in. We will discuss this at the meeting Saturday.

Seeking exhibitors and host locations
for a new event in downtown Danville
GalleryHopStops

If you're an artist or have suitable retail/office space in
or around Danville, you have an opportunity to be a part
of the new gallery hop series. The first two events will be
held Friday evenings from 5pm to 8pm on these dates:

_ November 12, 2004
_ February 4, 2005

Gallery Hop Stops will provide new exposure and potential
sales for local artists and encourage people to experience
downtown retail and other spaces at a leisurely pace.
To receive more detailed information about becoming an
exhibitor, providing a Gallery Hop Stop location, or both,

GUIDELINES


Gallery Hop Stops
Sponsored by The Arts Commission of Danville/Boyle County

Purpose:
o To promote and showcase the talented arts community in Danville/Boyle County
o To educate the general public about art and the value of quality work
o To create new or expand existing venues and partnerships between artists and
businesses
o To stimulate economic growth within Danville/Boyle County
Guidelines for Artists:

1. Submit a registration form by the specified deadline to the Arts Commission.
2. Art will go through a selection process to ensure a variety of mediums and to
determine a suitable location for the exhibit/artist.
3. Provide information at a later date for the brochure insert detailing the exhibit.
4. Set up and take down times that day will be determined by the business. The Arts
Commission will inform artists of individual times.
5. The Arts Commission will inform artists of the business's preference for method of
display.
6. Artists will need to set up their exhibit. During The Gallery Hop Stop hours from
5:00 to 8:00 p.m., artists will need to stay at their exhibit, greet the public, and handle all
sales of their work. Artists will also need to take down their exhibit.

Guidelines for Business:

1. Submit a registration form of interest by the deadline date to The Arts Commission.
2. Provide free and adequate space for exhibit of artwork.
An Arts Commission Gallery Hop representative will visit sites to facilitate the best match of artists to exhibit space.
3. Display Gallery Hop Stop brochures and posters prior to as well as during Gallery Hop Stops.
4. Decide the best method of display within their facility such as hanging on the wall, easels, display boards, tables, etc.
5. Inform The Arts Commission if they are planning to provide refreshments at their location.
6. Inform The Arts Commission of set up and takedown times that will be convenient for them.
7. Provide a staff member to open and close the facility.
8. If they choose, businesses may also continue normal operation during the Gallery Hop.
