Kathleen O'Brien is a freelance visionary artist who uses shamanic journeying as part of her artistic process, in order to access universal symbols which speak to the human experience. Primarily an oil painter, she also creates gourd rattles, dolls, mixed media assemblages, and drawing. Kathleen first learned painting from her grandfather, himself a professional artist, and later studied at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, DC where she was a teaching assistant. In addition to exhibiting her work in art galleries, Kathleen creates many works on commission, for publication, and teaches private studio classes. |
