The work I am currently exhibiting is a reflection of my love for drama and impressionism. The study of the Baroque artists Caravaggio and Artemesia Gentileschi have helped me draw attention to subject matter with the element of theatrical lighting. I have adapted the use of bold strokes and unnatural palettes from the Fauve artists Van Gogh, Cezanne, and Gauguin. These traits establish mood and atmosphere. Often the images I create represent the imagination's need to make ordinary life rituals just a little bit more extraordinary. I use vibrant color and dramatic light to set the stage for these scenes which come from both everyday and monumental experiences.
