Linda Brousseau has invited the Gathering Artists to hang a show at the Old Crow Winery for the months of June and July. Anyone interested in seeing the space can go after the GA meeting this coming Saturday. Linda will be there to show us the space and to answer any questions.

The winery is open from 11 to 6, Monday through Saturday, so if you can't go this Saturday, you can stop by on your own. Mary Ruth Maggard has a show right now and Ann Crawford will have an exhibit in April and May.

Here are the details for the show. The Gathering Artists will need to determine who will be in the show (that will become more clear after we see the space and know better how many pieces will fit, but it sounds like there should be plenty of space for quite a few pieces). And we will need to hang the show (they may have picture molding and hangers by then, or, if not, we will use hammer and hangers - and she reserves the right to rearrange things if necessary).

The Broussea's will have a reception on a Saturday afternoon (either on May 29th or June 5th) and the artists in the show will need to send out their own invitations. They take a 40% commission, so if you want to sell your work, price it accordingly. They have sold quite a few pieces from the other shows they have had.

We will discuss this more at the meeting on Saturday, so if you are interested, please come.

Also, here is the info from Donna Clore about the Gallery Hop.

The Art's Commission will be having a Gallery Hop in Danville on November 12th from 5 to 8 o'clock. You will be receiving an e-mail flyer with a registration form in the near future. There will be a second Gallery Hop next February 4th. Donna Clore is on the Gallery Hop Committee and will be bringing more details to our April meeting.

Two other announcements:

The Georgetown International Kite and Culture Festival, will take place in Georgetown, Kentucky, on April 17th and 18th. For more information call (502) 863-1575 ext. 104 or visit www.kitefest.com. David Cornwell told us about it at the meeting and said there will be beautiful, amazing kites that are flown in choreographed dances. It sounded wonderful. Folks can also contact David for more information.

Also, the West Kentucky Corporation in Bowling Green is planning the "Antiques, Collectibles and Stuff" four-day sale across Kentucky that will go east to west along Highway 68/80 from Paducah to Maysville and back again. The dates are June 3 through 6. They plan to have booths set up all along the way featuring Kentucky Arts, Crafts and Antiques.

If anyone is interested in setting up a booth, you need to find your own place along Highway 68 and then you can let them know the location at (270)781-6858 or e-mailing at sale@10000trails.com and they will add your business to the map and hotlink to your website or e-mail address.

Kentucky Living Magazine mentioned the event in January and will have more about it in their May issue. For more information go to www.10000trails.com/68-80sale
